Thankgiving post 19

Today's thankful post may seem a little silly but I was thankful to be made to smile today.  I got a link on Facebook that whisked me back to Sweden 1984, my missionary days.  This link was actually a radio program interview in Swedish with one of the Herrey brothers. Frankly, I couldn't understand everything that they said but I got most of it anyway.  The fun part though was the ability to see the Herrey brothers performance of Diggi-loo Diggi-ley at the 1984 European music festival. Man, that brought a smile to my face.  So then I went to YouTube and started listening to a bunch of their music which all made me smile.  And then I shared it with my daughters  via Facebook.  Though they didn't remember, I'm sure I've told them about the Herrey brothers.  They won the Swedish music festival and then went on to win the European competition while I was in Sweden.  It was a huge boon to our missionary work as every article in every newspaper and magazine talked about them and their beliefs so people had lots of questions to ask us to clarify some of the things that sounded crazy to them.  I can't tell you how many times I knocked on a door and had people ask, "You are the church the Herrey brothers belong to right? Do you really give 10% of your income to your church? Do you really believe in only having sex within the bounds of marriage? Do you really not drink or smoke?"  Yeah, it made talking to people much easier.  So today I had a little walk down memory lane as I listened to the Herreys.

Then I read my daughter's blog about her Sadie Hawkins dance date last night.  At the end she thanked her mom for making her poodle skirt years ago. This made me smile too.  I was happy that I was able to be a part of the fun she had on her date.

It all just made me smile so I'm happy today.  Call me easily amused...

Ok Maria, thanks for the smiles. I had to go to you tube and see this. They look like a swedish version of the Osmonds!! So fun.
Pretty cool dancing.
Sorry you are sick. Hope you get better in time to cook the turkey.
